Well 2011 sure has flown by! It's been a really exciting year for us, with lots of new faces, events and experiences. We'd like to take some time to just recap on the year that was and share our highlights with you.

We were very excited to kick off our community education series this year with the vision of empowering the community to become body leaders through providing helpful information. We have hosted a number of free seminars covering off on topics such as Functional Fitness, Stress and Burnout, Feldenkrais Method and Nutrition for Muscles. We hope all our guests that attended enjoyed the nights and found it beneficial. For those that haven't made it yet, we will be continuing the series into 2012 and welcome any suggestions for topics that you would like to know about!

Continuing our vision of empowering people through education, Body Leadership launched a blog, Ask Physio Paul, in October. A free discussion night was held to get the conversation started and begin providing the community with a trusted source of answers about pain, injuries and treatment. We're looking forward to providing you with more helpful information in 2012, so to get the answer to your question just ask at physiopaul.com!

With all the great stories we hear we knew it was time to introduce an award for our clients, Body Leader of the Month. Congratulations and a big thank you to Lorraine, Paul, Monique and Jaime for being our fantastic first award winners. We will be continuing the award throughout next year, if you have anyone you'd like to nominate let us know!

We have been very proud to assist throughout Churchie's 2011 Basketball Season. The teams finished winning 11 premierships in the GPS competition, a truly fantastic result! Congratulations to all the players, coaches and supporters you definitely deserve it!

Congratulations must also go to Paul Peterson placing 14th in the Coolangatta Gold, Amber Lewis and Nayon Iovino for their continued success with the Washington Ballet, Brooke Tytherleigh who will be joining Oscar Hoelscher at the New Zealand Ballet School next year, Lachlan Lewis and his South's team mates on their grand final win, all the Bayside Runners involved in the Endeavour 500km Run as well as all clients who completed the Gold Coast and Brisbane marathons. We're so proud of you all!

We've been fortunate enough to attend a number of events this year for some great causes! Felicity's Wish Annual Ball held in August was a fantastic night, followed by two great breast cancer events, Curves Chicks in Pink Night and the Think Pink Gala organised by one of our very own Dani Roberts. We were also lucky enough to be involved in the Coorparoo State High School Emu Gully Leadership Camp thanks to John Filewood, which was a great experience. Finally, the Endeavour 500km Run was once again a major highlight for the year with some great results and we also got to show off our new Body Leadership car! We're looking forward to all these events and more next year.

Body Leadership's expansion into workplace injury prevention solutions has enabled us to share skills with workers across the state. We have had great results reducing injuries by up to 87.5%! We look forward to helping our clients work towards zero harm in 2012.

Among all this, we've also had to say goodbye and welcome to members of the Body Leadership team. It is a very sad farewell to our veterans Dani and Megan, we wish them all the best with their futures. We'd like to give a very warm welcome to Lauren and Alison who are already fitting in nicely! We wish Reese a safe trip home to Vancouver and can't wait to hear how his Christmas present from the girls (tickets to an ice hockey match) goes! We are also excited to announce we are welcoming on a new physiotherapist, Joell in 2012. Joell has an exercise background and is a keen sportsman with a special interest in hockey playing at an elite level. He will be starting in January so look out for the new face around Body Leadership! On a final housekeeping note, we will be closed from the 21st of December and reopening on the 6th of January.

2011 has definitely been a big year and we hope you've had as much fun as us! We'd like to wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas and we look forward to taking on a big 2012 with you!
